StitchTip calculator
Sock calculator
Turn a blocked sock gauge and finished foot measurements into a cast-on, heel allocation and round-by-round foot and toe plan.
How this tool works
The calculator applies negative ease to the foot circumference, rounds the cast-on to a multiple of four and converts each measured section into rounds. Toe decreases remove four stitches per event and are checked against the available toe length.
Example calculation
With a 24 cm foot, 10% negative ease and 30 stitches per 10 cm, the target circumference is 21.6 cm and the cast-on rounds to 64 stitches.
Frequently asked questions
Does it choose a heel construction?
No. It reserves half the stitches for the heel, but you should follow your chosen heel-flap, short-row or afterthought-heel method.
What if the toe plan does not fit?
Increase the entered toe length or use a pattern with faster decreases. The result and Pro report show a warning instead of pretending the schedule is complete.
