Pattern resizing calculator
Scale a rectangular pattern to new dimensions while keeping stitch counts compatible with your repeat.
How pattern resizing works
Original stitch and row counts are multiplied by the target-to-original width and height ratios. Fixed edge stitches stay outside the motif repeat, and the result compares the nearest lower and upper repeat-compatible widths.
Pattern resizing example
A 100-stitch, 120-row panel sized 50 × 60 cm becomes 120 stitches and 150 rows at 60 × 75 cm. If a repeat prevents an exact width, both neighbouring options show their achieved measurements.
Frequently asked questions
Will this preserve garment shaping?
It preserves proportional counts for rectangular sections. Recalculate shaped necklines, armholes and sleeves separately.
