How to estimate blanket yarn
Quick mode scales a broad planning range by blanket area and yarn weight. Sample mode uses your actual yarn, hook, stitch and tension, then adds the border or joining allowance and safety margin.
Blanket yarn example
A 10 × 10 cm sample uses 12 meters. A 140 × 200 cm blanket has 280 times the sample area, giving a base estimate of 3,360 meters before the safety margin.

Why use a sample instead of a yarn chart?
Your own sample reflects the actual yarn, hook, stitch and tension you will use, so it is more relevant than a broad average.
Does the estimate include a border?
Yes when you enter a border and joining allowance. It is shown separately from the safety reserve so the two amounts are not confused.
