StitchTip calculator
C2C calculator
Turn a measured corner-to-corner block into a rectangular grid, complete diagonal row sequence and sample-based yarn estimate.
How this tool works
The calculator rounds the target dimensions to whole C2C blocks, builds every increasing, hold-width and decreasing diagonal, then scales measured yarn use across the complete grid.
Example calculation
A 100 × 150 cm project made from 10 cm blocks uses a 10 × 15 grid: 150 blocks over 24 diagonal rows, with 10 increase rows, 5 hold-width rows and 9 decrease rows.
Frequently asked questions
Why are there hold-width rows in a rectangle?
Once the shorter dimension reaches its full block count, one edge decreases while the other still increases. The diagonal stays the same length until the longer dimension is reached.
Does the yarn estimate include a border?
No. The estimate scales the measured C2C blocks and your chosen reserve. Add border, joining, tassels or unusually frequent color changes to the reserve or calculate them separately.
Does it teach the stitches inside a C2C block?
No. It plans block counts and diagonal construction. Use the same tested block method for the sample and finished project.
