Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how StitchTip handles information when you use https://stitchtip.com and related StitchTip features. StitchTip is operated by Viacheslav Starykov, an individual (the “Operator”, “StitchTip”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

StitchTip is designed to minimize the amount of personal data we collect. The service does not currently require user accounts, login credentials, or a profile.

2. Information stored locally on your device

Most calculator and report data is intended to remain in your browser rather than being sent to a StitchTip user database. Depending on the feature used, StitchTip may store information in localStorage or similar browser storage, including:

• calculator inputs and project parameters you enter;
• calculation results and report settings;
• the current report and a limited local history of recent reports (currently up to 20);
• selected preferences, such as language or calculation currency; and
• other local state needed to make the website function.

This locally stored information remains on the browser/device where it was created unless you clear it, your browser clears it, or you remove it. StitchTip does not currently provide cloud synchronization or account-based recovery of this local data.

3. Paid Pro Reports and payment records

StitchTip may offer certain Pro Reports as one-time digital purchases. Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for the transaction. StitchTip does not receive or store your full payment-card details.

To securely verify whether a specific Pro Report has been paid for, StitchTip may store a minimal server-side purchase record using Cloudflare infrastructure. This record may include:

• a random purchase identifier;
• a report identifier;
• a one-way hash of a browser entitlement token or similar technical identifier;
• a Paddle order, transaction, product, or price reference;
• payment status, such as pending, paid, or refunded; and
• timestamps needed to process and verify the purchase.

The content of your calculator project or report is not intended to be stored in this payment database unless a future feature expressly tells you otherwise.

Because the paid entitlement is designed to work without an account, access may be tied to the browser/device used for the purchase. Clearing cookies or local browser storage, using a different browser, or changing devices may make a purchased report unavailable if the underlying local report data or browser entitlement can no longer be recovered.

4. Information you provide when contacting us

If you contact us at [email protected], by phone, or through another support channel, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, order reference, and the content of your message. We use this information to answer your request, investigate technical issues, and provide customer support.

5. Technical and security information

StitchTip is hosted using Cloudflare services. When you visit the site, Cloudflare and related infrastructure may process standard network and security information such as your IP address, request headers, user-agent information, timestamps, and security or diagnostic logs. This processing is used to deliver the website, protect it from abuse, and maintain reliability and security.

StitchTip does not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising trackers, or similar non-essential analytics/tracking systems. If this changes, this Privacy Policy and any required consent mechanism will be updated before such technologies are used where required by law.

6. External searches and third-party services

Some StitchTip features may allow you to initiate an external search for materials or related information. When you deliberately use such a feature, the search terms or request necessary to perform that search may be sent to the relevant third-party search or content service. Those third parties process information under their own privacy terms.

StitchTip also relies on third-party service providers, including:

• Cloudflare, for hosting, content delivery, security, and server-side infrastructure;
• Paddle, for checkout, payment processing, taxes/VAT associated with the sale, receipts, refunds, fraud prevention, and related merchant-of-record services; and
• other narrowly necessary technical providers that may be introduced to operate a specific feature.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

StitchTip may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies to provide security and paid-report access, for example a secure HttpOnly cookie used to associate a browser with a paid report. These technologies are used to provide a service you request and are not used for advertising.

StitchTip also uses browser localStorage for the local calculator, report, history, and preference functions described above. You can remove locally stored data through your browser settings, but doing so may remove saved projects, report history, preferences, or access information that cannot be restored without an account.

8. Legal bases for processing

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, or similar law applies, we process personal data only where a valid legal basis exists. Depending on the context, these bases may include:

• performance of a contract or steps requested before entering a contract, such as providing a purchased Pro Report;
• our legitimate interests in operating, securing, debugging, and improving the service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights;
• compliance with legal obligations, including recordkeeping, fraud prevention, or responding to lawful requests; and
• your consent, where consent is legally required for a particular optional feature.

9. Data retention

Local browser data is retained on your device until it is cleared by you, by your browser, or by the application. Server-side purchase and transaction records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide paid access, process refunds or disputes, prevent fraud, maintain security, comply with tax/accounting or legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims.

Support correspondence is kept only for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request and for legitimate recordkeeping or legal purposes.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, applicable transfer safeguards are used by the relevant provider, such as contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to certain processing, or receive a portable copy of certain data. You may also have the right to complain to a competent data-protection authority.

To exercise a privacy right, contact [email protected]. We may need enough information to verify the request and locate any relevant records. Because StitchTip does not use user accounts and much of your project data is stored only in your browser, we may not possess or be able to identify some locally stored information.

12. Children

StitchTip is not intended to collect personal information from children. A person who is not legally able to enter into a purchase contract should not purchase a Pro Report without the involvement or authorization of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the service, including secure hosting, HTTPS, limited server-side purchase records, server-side verification of paid entitlements, and keeping payment-card processing with the payment provider. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the service, technology, payment model, or applicable legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on StitchTip with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted or otherwise communicated where required by law.
