How this tool works
Measured full-width rows establish yarn per row and finished height. The calculator allocates whole rows to five temperature bands, adds the selected reserve and rounds each color up to whole skeins for a realistic shopping total.
Example calculation
A 365-day blanket with one row per day and 20 m used across 10 sample rows needs about 803 m with a 10% reserve. Buying by five separate colors can require more skeins than the theoretical total.
Frequently asked questions
Does StitchTip fetch weather history?
No. You enter the expected percentage for each band, so you can use your own local climate records and temperature thresholds.
Why is the color purchase total higher?
Each color must be purchased as a whole skein. Partial leftovers from one color cannot normally cover another color band.
