StitchTip calculator
Profit margin calculator
See actual profit after discount, labor, materials, overhead and selling fees, then calculate break-even and target-margin list prices.
How this tool works
The discount is applied first, percentage and fixed fees are deducted from the customer payment, and all entered costs are removed. Margin and markup remain separate.
Example calculation
A $100 list price with 10% discount, $60 total costs and $9.20 selling fees leaves $20.80 profit: a 23.11% margin.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin divides profit by selling price; markup divides profit by cost. They cannot be used interchangeably.
Why is the target price above break-even?
Break-even only covers costs and fees. The target price also preserves the chosen profit margin after discount.
